Katikati
(population 3000)This is originally an Ulster settlement. Since recent years it has transformed itself in an open art gallery; Katikati has many of its buildings decorated with murals. This open art gallery sphere makes Katikati a nice and special place to visit for a day or so.

Tramping
After having picked up a leaflet about the murals in town (at the tourist information center) it is very nice to wander through the city searching for the murals described in the leaflet. Another nice walk in town is the Haiku Pathway. During this tramp you will come across some nice landscapes.

Vine yards
Morton Estate
This is a large vine yard; it is considered to be one of New Zealand’s biggest. You can visit this vine yard for tasting and of course for buying some excellent wines.
