Doubtless Bay and Around

Doubtless Bay and Around is characterized by its nice Beaches and many coves. This area is great for the Fishing lovers amongst us. But also boating and other water sports are practiced here a lot. Furthermore you will be able to find many types of Accommodation, you can Golf, taste wine and more.

Outdoor

Beaches

There are many Beaches in this area, from picturesque and remote to touristy and entertaining. Examples of some Beaches are: Pukeke Beach (remote), Matai Bay (remote with coves), Coopers Beach (quite touristy) Taipa- and Rangiputa Beach, are the touristier ones.

Cruising and sailing

This area is like many areas in Northland & Auckland very suitable for making a sailing and or cruising trip. You will find many companies offering you the opportunity to attend a cruise and or a sailing trip. For the more active people amongst us the sailing trips are highly recommended.

Caving

This area of New Zealand is blessed with many caves.

Diving and snorkeling

You can also attend dive or snorkeling trips in this area. Of course you can dive and snorkel on your own as well (if having the skills and equipment, you can rent it as well).

Fishing

This area is great for Fishing, so bring your Fishing gear! From November till May game Fishing is being held in Whangaroa Harbor.

Golfing

Especially in the northern bit of this area you will find excellent opportunities to play Golf on nice courts.

Kayaking

You can attend a sea kayak tour passing along some nice Beaches and caves.

Tramping

Doubtless Bay and Around offers nice tramping oppotunities. An example is to climb the St Paul’s Rock. There are also some nice historic trails. Please visit the DOC and or the tourist information for more information concerning this.

Doubtless Bay and Around gives you the opportunity to attend a wine tasting tour or to visit a winery on your own.
