(population 3600)Whitianga is a popular town on the Coromandel Peninsula. It has a nice harbor which is situated at Mercury Bay; this bay is lying next to the South Pacific Ocean. Many nice aquatic activities can be undertaken in Whitianga. Of course also activities on land are at hand.

There are some nice caves around Whitianga. By attending a tour you will be able to see the caves near the shore; the tour will be in a boat.
