Hutt Valley

Approximately 130.000 people reside in this area. It can be considered as a suburban area which has good links with the city center of Wellington; it is a perfect base to explore Wellington. Hutt Valley contains some nice forests parks and museums.

Bird watching

In Stagland Wildlife Reserve you will be able to watch quite a few birds. Furthermore the nature is beautiful.

Mountainbiking and cycling

There is a nice mountainbike trail which goes from Eastborne to Pencarrow Ligthhouse. Of course more options to bike are available. If more information is wished, please visit a tourist information center.

Tramping

In Rimutaka Forest Park you will be able to make some nice walks. Also at Days Bay and Eastborne some nice walks can be made.
