Takaka
(population 1230)This is one of the most relaxing towns in New Zealand. In summer it attracts many “children” of Woodstock. This town is the gateway to the beautiful Golden Bay; it lies “in” it. The Golden Bay got its name because a great clump of gold was found there in February 1857.
