Extreme(r) Sports

New Zealand offers enough opportunities to do some extreme(r) sports, for example bungy jumping. You can do this in Queenstown (Otago & Southland), Auckland and many other places. Interesting in bungee jumping?: Look at http://www.fettke.com.

A bungy rocket is also an option, in Queenstown and Wellington. Hereby you will sit in a capsule that flies in the air with on both sides elastic ropes on which you will be bouncing for a while after being launched. A free fall can also be made, this is called a Sky Jump. You are able to make these kind of jumps in Auckland.

Above Queenstown’s lake you can undertake a parabungy. This means you will have a parasail which keeps you in the air while a speed boat, with which you are connected via a rope, is taking you across the river.

Another nice option is to kiteboard. You will stand on a small surfboard on the water while a small parachute will draw you with sometimes very high speeds through it. Cave rafting is also a possibility in for example Greymouth (Westcoast).

As you can read there are many extreme sports to undertake in New Zealand, with Queenstown as the “capital” of it. Besides the described extreme sports you will find lots more and more will come; as new “creative and innovative” ideas will create them. More interesting information about Queenstown, "The Adrenaline Captial", is provided under this link http://news.bbc.co.uk.
