Hunting

New Zealand does not have any natural mammals. Nowadays there are mammals, mainly brought by the Europeans. You can find deer, wild boar and more species. With preserving native wildlife as the reason, hunting in New Zealand is encouraged. But you will need a license (if hunting on public conservation land). This permit can be obtained by one of the many Departments of Conservation offices New Zealand has. Their website address is: http://www.doc.govt.nz.

Hunting with a guide would be the best option. The reason is that it can be quite difficult to walk to New Zealand’s wilderness. Besides that due to the maritime Climate New Zealand has quick weather changes which can easily occur. This can cause dangerous situations. The last advantage is that the guide will arrange the necessary permits.

When you are interested in hunting in New Zealand it migt be a nice idea to visit the webiste of New Zealand Deerstalkers' Association; http://www.deerstalkers.org.nz.
