Sailing and Cruising

New Zealanders boast about them being the best mariners in the world. Whether it is true or not, Auckland is called “City of Sails”. If you like to watch yacht racing you will be able to find enough opportunities to watch them in New Zealand. Some good places to rent a boat and to set sail are: Bay of Islands (Northland & Auckland), Auckland itself, Dunedin (Otago & Southland) and Lake Te Anau (Otago & Southland).

If you do not want to sail but want to be on the water cruising is an excellent option. Fiordland National Park is a good place to make a cruise. This national park is situated in Otago & Southland.
