Scuba Diving

Although New Zealand does not have a great reputation for it, you will find lots of great opportunities to scuba dive. Islands in front of the northeastern coast of the northern island, Poor Knights Islands (Northland & Auckland), is said to be the best diving area in New Zealand.

Furthermore the Marlborough Sounds (Marlborough & Nelson) and the Bay of Islands (Northland & Auckland) are examples of good places to scuba dive.
